Although it is said a 'picture paints a thousand words', occasionally I like to create and put words to my images, sometimes poems, sometimes words alone.
To the beach,
Raw power, muscles, sinew
Waves crashing, hooves splashing
Reigns tight, left, right, trotting, galloping
The horsemen learning, enjoying, riding.
On the beach.
Chilli bright,chilli hot,
Colourful buds, fiery reds
Yellows, greens and oranges
Smooth sand stretching out
Sea meeting, sun beating
Echoes, memories, visions, sounds;
death and destruction
But fighting for freedom.
Fight, run, drop down
Life taken, Life gone
shooting, killing, hurting
But, fighting for freedom
Thousands struggle to battle enemies
Bullets, guns, tanks.
Noise, the cacophony of war
How much more?
But, fighting for freedom
Quiet now, sea calm
Souls gone
But freedom gained
Men gone
But freedom gained
We should not forget Those who gave
